RAID TECHNICAL INSTRUCTOR PROGRAMS

As a Full RAID IT center we have the ability to train you up to instructor level, in almost every program we offer.

Besides the Recreational Instructor Levels (read more here) we have several other Instructor levels you can achieve.

RAID DECO 50 OPEN CIRCUIT INSTRUCTOR

What You Learn

The RAID DECO 50 Instructor course incorporates high level up-to-date diving skills with a relaxed, bespoke, and personalised out of the classroom teaching skill set.

The DECO 50 Instructor course prepares Instructors to conduct the RAID DECO 40 & 50 courses and addresses the philosophy, organization, practical considerations, promotion and RAID Technical Mindset of teaching the DECO 40 & 50 Diver courses.

What You Can Teach

As a DECO 50 Instructor, you’ll be qualified to:

  • Conduct any technical try dives

  • Conduct Twinset workshops

  • Teach the DEEP 40 course with the TRIMIX option

  • Teach theDECO 40 course with the TRIMIX option

  • Teach the DECO 50 course

The Scuba Gear You'll Use

Standardised Twinset setups, with a single bladder wing, harness and backplate, as well as a streamlined regulator setup.
The Course will be conducted in a Drysuit, and a single deco/stage cylinder.

You can achieve RAID DECO 50 instructor status in a few ways:

Option 1: (you are a RAID Instructor)

  • You are a current RAID Instructor

  • Attend a Technical Instructor Training program here at Techwise

Option 2: (You are a non-RAID Instructor)

  • Attend a 2 day crossover here at Techwise

  • Attend a Technical Instructor Training Program here at Techwise

Option 3: (You are not an Instructor, and want to be a TEC ONLY Instructor)

  • Attend a Technical Instructor Training program here at Techwise

  • Attend a RAID HQ examination with a RAID Technical Examiner

Prerequisites:

  • To be a minimum of 18 years old.

  • To be certified diver for at least 12 months.

  • Certified RAID Open Circuit Decompression Procedure diver or equivalent certification/s (of which

  • at least 25 hours are between 35 – 50m and/or equivalent.

  • Certified RAID Open Circuit Nitrox Instructor*

  • Submit a current Rescue Breathing/CPR/BLS Training and Oxygen Provider Instructor certificate/s (DAN/equivalent)*

  • To have a minimum of 80 logged underwater hours using open circuit scuba equipment.

  • Submit a dive medical passed by a certified dive doctor.

    * Option 1 Only

Equipment Requirements:

  • Backplate / wing , and long hose setup required.

  • Dry suit required.

  • Rest as per RAID general standards.

Duration & Cost OPTION 1 (As a RAID Instructor):

  • 6+ Days

  • €1450

Includes local transport and air, cylinders and weights. Helium, Oxygen, and boat travel not included

 

Duration & Cost OPTION 2 (As a non RAID Instructor):

RAID Instructor Crossover

  • 2 Days

  • €475 Tuition

  • €80 Dives and Gas

RAID Technical Instructor Course

  • 6+ Days

  • €1450

Duration & Cost OPTION 3 (As a non Instructor):

RAID Technical Instructor Development Program

  • 9 Days

  • €1700 Tuition

  • €90 fee to RAID HQ

  • Includes local transport and air, cylinders and weights. Helium, Oxygen, and boat travel not included

RAID Technical Instructor Examination

  • 2 Days

  • €570 Instructor Examination (may change without notice)

  • Dive Site access and Gas paid directly to the dive center

Other Instructor Levels:

Sidemount Instructor

Prerequisites:

  • To be certified and renewed as a RAID Instructor (recreational or technical)

  • To submit the appropriate minimum logged hours relevant to The Sidemount Specialty.

  • Completed and passed all academics.

  • Meet Sidemount Specialty requirements

  • Documented proof of prerequisite requirements presented to IT.

  • Completed and passed a practical Specialty Instructor Skill Assessment.

Equipment Requirements:

  • Approved Sidemount Harness and Regulator setup.

Duration & Cost:

  • €750

  • 4 Days, Gas and Cylinders Included

Advanced Wreck Instructor:

Prerequisites:

  • To be certified and renewed as a RAID Instructor (recreational or technical)

  • To submit the appropriate minimum logged hours relevant to The Advanced Wreck Specialty.

  • Completed and passed all academics.

  • Meet Specialty requirements

  • Documented proof of prerequisite requirements presented to IT.

  • Completed and passed a practical Specialty Instructor Skill Assessment.

Equipment Requirements:

  • Approved technical twinset and/or sidemount rig

  • €750
